Xyron, Creative Imaginations, and Faber Castell

     

 

Xyron, Creative Imaginations, and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft have teamed up for a Twelve Days of Christmas blog hop! Be sure to stop by the Xyron blog for lots of great projects and giveaways! I created three projects for the hop and my first is a photo display using a vase. A couple of years ago my sister and her kids were able to spend Christmas with us. While they were here we made a trip to the mall and the kids had a blast playing in the photo booth. I wanted to find a fun way to present the photos as a gift to my sister. This vase was perfect to hold the photo strips and was fun and simple to decorate. 

 



I started with an inexpensive clear vase.

 

To decorate the vase I started by cutting a 2 inch strip of the Creative Imaginations Snowflake patterned paper and then rubbed a metallic blue gelato from Faber-Castell over the entire strip.

 

I used a baby wipe to remove the excess gelato from the varnish finish of the snowflakes and to blend and smooth out the rest of the gelato across the patterned paper.

I cut a 2 1/4 inch piece of white cardstock and colored along the edges with the metallic blue PITT artist pen from Faber-Castell.

I ran the snowflake paper through my Xyron machine, adhered it to the white cardstock, and wrapped the band around the vase.

 

I die-cut a 1 3/4 inch circle and heat embossed my sentiment with clear embossing powder on white cardstock and then brushed the metallic blue artist pen over the entire thing.

 

I used a baby wipe to remove the excess ink leaving a tone on tone look.

 To finish it off, I die-cut and layered a couple of snowflakes from Papertrey Ink and then adhered the circle on top.

For my second project I made a tealight candle gift set and box.

 

 

I made a box from cardstock that is large enough to hold nine of the tealight candles. To decorate the box I cut a 4 3/4 by 4 3/4 inch square from the Creative Imaginations Holiday House patterned paper, ran it through my Xyron 5" Creative Station, and then rubbed white gelato along the edges of the paper to created a frosted look.

I used plain tealight candles in clear cases.

I cut strips of patterned paper to fit around my candles and ran them through my Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.

 

I wrapped the strips around the candles and added them to the box. A simple and quick project!

For my final project I put together a tag and card gift set.

After I decided what size cards and tags I wanted to use, I hand cut a box and dividers from cardstock to hold the cards and tags.

I used my Xyron 5" Creative Station to adhere the patterned papers to the cards and stamped my sentiments.

I die-cut word and snowflake tags using my Silhouette Cameo. I wanted to color the tags red so I started by scraping some of the red lead from one of the Faber-Castell Red PITT Pastel Pencils using my craft knife.

I sprayed pearl Glimmer Mist onto the craft sheet.

 

 The pastel pecils are chalk based so it blended with the Glimmer Mist easily to create a custom pearlized red paint.

 

I painted each tag several times until I got the desired colored letting the cardstock dry in between each coat. Once everything was dry I added all the tags to my box.
