Butterfly Frames

Even though we moved into our new house last August, I still have a lot of wall space that needs to be filled. I made these two fun frames to go into my girls rooms. I kept it very simple and used colors that match their rooms. My girls love butterflies, especially my 9 year old, and she requested "flying butterflies", lol. To try to accomplish this I hand sewed three butterfly diecuts together through the center. The bottom butterfly is attached to the background in the frame and the other two are able to move freely. I am planning to hang these near the windows where the breeze can catch them and  the butterflies will apear to flutter.

For both frames I used papers from the new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Collection from American Crafts. I just love the colors and patterns in this new line. The butterflies were cut on my Slice machine using the Spring cartridge. I added a small banner to the bottom of each frame using Versamark ink, American Crafts white embossing powder, and a sentiments from Papertrey Ink's Up, Up, & Away stamp set. For the pink butterfly frame I also added a diecut behind the butterfly and popped it up for a bit more dimension. The diecut is actually part of a box from A Little Hut that I cut with my silhouette and trimmed to fit my frame. You can find the Diamond box here or in the Paper Quilt collection here at A Little Hut.

You can find this and lots of other wonderful projects linked up at Paper Issues. You can also link up your own projects for the Go Green or Go Home Issue until March 17th. We would love to see your green, recycled, or home decor projects.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
