Jars of Memories

Although I tend to have a more simple style when creating layouts, I had a lot of fun putting this one together.  More often I am drawn to the "B" sides of scrapbook papers with patterns that are smaller and less busy, but when I saw these jars they were just begging to be filled with fun photos and scrappy goodness. I was inspired by some of my own photo filled jars I display around my home. Photobooth strips from the mall and other places are more difficult to display with my other framed family photos so I keep them in clear jars or simple vases so they can also be viewed and enjoyed by my family. The photobooth strips of my daughter in this layout were taken on my iPad so I was able to transfer them to my computer and resize them to fit in the jars. I also added my layout to a 12x12 shadow box frame I found at Target. I have bought 4 of these frames and plan to purchase a few more to display layouts, kids artwork, etc., around my home.

Here are a few close up shots of the jars:

To put this layout together I used the Twinkling Lights 12x12 paper, papers from the 6x6 paper pad, stickers from the remarks pack and the accent and phrase sticker sheet, and a ephemera flower- all from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection. I also stamped on the jar labels with the AE It's OK and Real Life stamp sets from Technique Tuesday and added a couple of punched butterflies using Martha Stewart's 3-In-1 Classic Butterfly punch.

I am linking up my project at Paper Issues where the newest theme is Candy Shop. There are so many wonderful projects already linked up. I hope you stop by and check them out or even add your own.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
