Xyron and Imaginisce are teaming up this week and the Xyron Design Team has come up with some great projects using Imaginisce products. Be sure to stop by the Xyron blog and Facebook page to check them out.
For my first project I put together a display board using the Imaginisce Childhood Memories collection. I had a lot of fun creating banners and tags that give an interactive element to the project.
To create the banners for the PLAY title, start by cutting a 2.5x3 inch rectangle. Make a 1 inch cut in the middle of the cardstock piece. Cut from each corner to the top of the 1 inch cut to create a simple banner shape.
You can use a Silhouette machine or a manual cutter and alphabet dies to add a letter to each banner piece.
Cut a 2.5x2.5 inch square from patterned paper. Use a border punch to add a scalloped edge to one side of the square.
Use the Xyron Mega Runner to add adhesive to the edges of the square and adhere to the back of the banner shape.
Repeat for all other letters of the title to complete the word PLAY.
To make the photo banners cut two of the simple banner shapes as we did above. Trim photos to fit the banners and apply adhesive using the 2.5" Create-a-Sticker.
Adhere photos to the cardstock banner shapes.
To make the Childhood Memories pocket cut a 3x5 inch piece of cardstock. Score at 3 inches along the 5 inch side and then turn the cardstock and score at a .25 inch and 2.75 inches along the 3 inch side of the cardstock.
Trim away the top portions as shown and taper the bottom pieces to form the tabs of the pocket.
Fold along all score lines. Add adhesive to the tabs with the Xyron Mega Runner and fold along the score line to form the pocket.
Use the We R Memory Keeper Angle Corner Chomper to give the pocket a tag shape.
Cut the childhood memories phrase from the Memory Lane patterned paper and add adhesive with the 2.5" Create-a-Sticker.
Adhere the patterned papers to the front of the pocket and then fill with favorite photos or journaling.
To make the polaroid tag start by cutting a 2x6 inch piece of cardstock and score at 3 inches.
Fold along the score line. Use the the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to create a tag shape. Be sure to use the Corner Chomper along the folded edge when creating the tag shape.
Cut a 1.5x2.25 inch piece of cardstock and use the Corner Chomper to create a tag shaped template. Trace the tag template on the inside of the folded tag as shown
Use a craft knife to cut out the inner tag. Apply adhesive to the entire tag using the 2.5" Create-a-Sticker.
Trim photo and adhere to the inside of the polaroid tag.
To make the tag with the two flaps, cut a 3x4 inch piece of cardstock. Score at 1 inch and 3 inches along the 4 inch side. Score at a .5 inch on the two flaps as shown below.
Trim away the excess cardstock and fold along the score lines as shown below. Use the We R Memory Keepers Angle Corner Chomper to create a tag shape.
Trim patterned papers to fit the two flaps and apply adhesive with the the 2.5" Create-a-Sticker.
Adhere the papers to the flaps and add a sticker to the front of the tag using DIY foam adhesive.
Adhere a photo or add journaling to the inside of the tag.
To create the tag with a single flap, cut a 2x5.5 inch piece of cardstock. Score at 2.5 inches and fold along the score line. Use the We R Memory Keepers Angle Corner Chomper to make a tag shape.
Apply adhesive to your photos using the 2.5" Create-a-Sticker and adhere to the inside of the tag.
Add a chipboard sticker to out side of the tag.
For the matchbook tag, start by cutting a 2x6 1/8 inch piece of cardstock. Score at a 3/8ths of an inch and at 3 3/8ths inches.
Fold along the score lines. Gather and cut photos and patterned paper into tags shapes to fit inside the matchbook tag.
Staple the tags and photos inside the tag using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.
Cut the FLY sticker into a tag shape and adhere to the front of the tag. Adhere a strip of the dark blue paper over the staples using the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.
To make the next few tags I used my Silhouette Cameo. If anyone is interested in using the studio files I created for the display, please leave me a comment and I will be happy to share them.
I die-cut words from the vellum and used these tags as photo overlays. You could also achieve this look using small alphabet punches and the We R Memory Keepers Angle Corner Chomper.
I created a tag shaped envelope in the Studio software and a matching tag to line the inside of the envelope. The envelope was adhered together with the Xyron Mega Runner.
You can add photos or journaling to the envelopes.
I also used the Silhouette Studio software to weld a word to my tag make the next pocket. Once it is finished cutting on the Silhouette, score the tag at 3 inches and fold along the score line.
Apply adhesive to the edges of the pocket with the Mega Runner. Fold the tag along the score line to form the pocket.
Apply adhesive to the liner of the pocket and adhere to the inside of the pocket.
Embellish as desired and add photos or journaling tags to the pocket.
Once you have completed all the tags and banner pieces for the display, you can add them to the frame with small white clothespins or other clips.

Wonderful projects. The rocket ship is so cute and I adore the display board. All those details are great. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love the display board. It could be updated as the child (or whoever it's for) grows or changes. We're always going from one interest to another. Any little boy (big or little) would love the rocket. Wish I had a little boy to give this to.
