This week the Xyron Design Team is getting inspired by older projects that can be found on the Xyron website and creating something new. The original project was this Easter Flower Pot that can be found on the Xyron website here.
I put together this flower pot with a painted chalkboard surface. I wanted to create a flower pot that was both fun and functional. This would make a fun gift with a special message or a decor piece that can be used to leave special notes and reminders.
Let me show you how I put this together. Start by painting a flower pot with chalkboard paint.
Add a half circle of styrofoam.
We're going to use crinkled paper as a filler for the pot. I made my own by cutting 1/8" strips of white paper and crinkled it by hand.
Add the crinkled paper to the pot on top of the styrofoam.
I used my Silouette Cameo to cut flowers for my pot. You could use use any diecut machine you own or hand cut your own flowers.
Use the 5" Creative Station to make your own dimensional adhesive.
Cut the dimensional adhesive into small pieces and add to the back of two of the three flowers layers.
I made my own brads to coordinate with the patterned papers of my flowers. I used the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Tool to punch various coordinating patterned papers.
Add the patterned papers to Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Bubble Caps. Run the bubble caps through Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker and adhere to Epiphany Crafts Brad Settings.
Layer the flowere and add a brad throught the front.
To make the flower stems I used white floral wires to blend in with the white crinkle paper. Bend the floral wire in half and then twist the two halves together. Leave a small loop at the bend when twisting the wires together.
Turn the flower over and insert the brad prongs into the wire loop. Secure the wire with the brad prongs.
Punch a 1" circle and adhere to the back of the back of the flowers for a finished look.
Add the finished flowers to the pot and arrange as desired.
Using chalk or a chalk marker to add a special message to the flower pot.
I hope you enjoyed my project. Be sure to stop by the Xyron blog all week long to see what the other design team members have created. Thanks for stopping by!
