Xyron, Little Yellow Bicycle, and May Arts Ribbon have teamed up for a week of fun and inspiration. Be sure to check out all three blogs each day to see what the design teams have created.
I made two projects for the blog hop. My first project is a fun mini album using the Little Yellow Bicycle Poppy collection and some of the May Arts orange chevron ribbon. I chose to use a Heidi Swapp display stand as the base for my album. I kept the cover page of the album very simple using one of the banners from the Paper Crafting kit and the Bloom sticker from the Favorite Pieces sticker sheet.
For the inside pages I made several of them as file folders and the others as pocket pages. This first page uses the Garden Journal/ Red Pinstripe patterned paper and the Tim Holtz file tab die. The journaling card serves as an embellishment on the page as well as a way to hold the file folder closed. There is plenty of room for journaling on the card and the inside patterned paper is lined and has room for additional journaling if needed. Photos can also be stored inside the folder.
The next page is a pocket page I made using white cardstock and the 6x6 paper pack. I added another banner and a sticker from the Fresh Verse sticker sheet.
I trimmed the 6x6 patterned paper to make a 3x4 journaling card. I added the May Arts orange chevron ribbon as both a banner piece and a pull tab so the card can be easily removed from the pocket.
This page is another folder page I made with the Tim Holtz bracket die. I added another journaling card and more of the May Arts chevron ribbon cut into a banner shape.
I used the Pretty Plaid/ Aqua Parchment 12x12 patterned paper and the script paper from the 6x6 paper pack to make the pocket and added banners and embellishment from the paper crafting kit.
I added a simple journaling tag to the inside of the pocket.
This page is another file folder page using the Bloom and Damask/ Yellow Pinstripe 12x12 patterned paper and the Tim Holtz file tab die. I added a journaling card embellished with items from the paper crafting kit.
I added an additional piece of cardstock to the inside of the folder as a photo mat.
I used more white cardstock and patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pack for this pocket page. I kept the embellishment simple only using a strip of vellum tape and the chipboard banner piece.
I cut a journaling card from more of the 6x6 patterned paper and embellished it using a flower and banner piece from the paper crafting kit.
The final page of the album is a folder page using the Pretty Plaid/ Aqua Parchment 12x12 patterned paper and the Tim Holtz bracket die.
I embellished the journaling card with a flower from the paper crafting kit. I used DIY foam adhesive to give the flower a bit more dimension.

For my second project I created this fun Hello card using a chipboard shape, papers from the Little Yellow Bicycle Poppy collection and May Arts ribbons. I started with one of the chipboard banners and a couple of the banner shapes from the paper crafting kit and then selected additional papers and ribbons and cut them into banner shapes, too. I layered them along the bottom of the card and adhered them using the Xyron Mega Runner. I cut a piece of cardstock and added the thickers along the right side. It may be hard to see in the photos, but I also added several score lines on both sides of the word hello for a bit more texture. I added the piece of cardstock to the card using DIY foam adhesive made with the Xyron 5" Creative Station.
