Valentine's Card and Tags

Happy Valentine's Day! I have a couple projects to share with you today. I made a couple of sets of tags. This first set uses dies and stamps from My Favorite Things and Simon Says Stamp to create pocket tags. I started by die cutting several white tags using a My Favorite Things Pierced Tag die. To make the curved edge I used a circle die to cut off the top half of the tags and then adhered the bottom portion to a tag to form a pocket.

I decided to add small notebooks to my tags. To make the notebooks I used the My Favorite Things Notebook Edge die to cut two red pieces for the front and back covers and several white pages for inside the notebooks. I simply stapled them together with red staples, but there are many ways you could put them together.

To decorate the front of each tag I used the Simon Says Stamp Quite the Pear stamp set and dies. I stamped each image with Memento ink and colored them using Copics. I kept it simple and didn't spend a lot of time coloring each image, but I think they turned out ok. I cut the images out using the coordinating dies and adhered them to the card using foam adhesive. I finished each one by stamping a coordinating sentiment from the same stamp set.

For the second set of tags I decided to use the leftover die cut pieces as tag toppers.

I added some bags between the tag pieces and filled them with some conversation heart confetti I had leftover from another project. You could add any small treats you would like to fill the bags. To make the confetti I die cut a bunch of small hearts using the small heart from the Papertrey Ink Love You to Pieces: Fox Die Collection from white, pink, orange, green, and purple cardstocks. I stamped the small sentiments from the Papertrey Ink Friendship Jars Spring Fillers stamp set on the hearts in Raspberry Fizz Ink.

I decorated the tag toppers using the same stamp set and steps as the pocket tags.

I also have a simple shaker card to share with you today. I used the My Favorite Things Candy Jar dies to make the shaker portion of the card. The jar die comes in two pieces- the jar and the lid are separate pieces. I used a partial die cutting technique so that only the center portion of the jar was cut from shaker panel using the jar die. I die cut several additional lids and jars in pink cardstock and adhered them together for a bit of dimension.

Behind the shaker panel I added a striped embossed panel to add a bit of texture. To make the panel I used my scoring board to score and emboss the paper every 1/8 inch to create the stripes.

I filled the shaker portion with clear seed beads and conversation heart confetti I made using the small heart from the Papertrey Ink Love You to Pieces: Fox Die Collection from white, pink, and purple cardstocks. I stamped the small sentiments from the Papertrey Ink Friendship Jars Spring Fillers stamp set on the hearts in Raspberry Fizz Ink.
