Epiphany Crafts and Punky Sprouts

This week Epiphany Crafts has teamed up with Punky Sprouts and the design team has been sharing some fabulous mini albums this week. Be sure to stop by the Epiphany Crafts blog to check them out. I was sent the Punk-a-licious album to create my mini. The album is 12 inches tall so I decided to cut the covers to make two albums. There are two of each of the page inserts so it was easy to divide everything between the albums and create two complete albums.

I used the Basic Grey Hipster collection in addition to my Epiphany Crafts tools to decorate the two minis the same to give to two of my girls who are starting junior high and high school this year. Here is a look at one of the albums.

I added both bracket and banner shapes to the cover to mimic the layered shaped pages of the album.

This tag was actually a leftover piece of the banner shape from the cover. I added a brad created with the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool and a brad setting.

I really love all the shaped pages in the album and had a lot of fun decorating them. I added two of the Basic Grey slide die cuts to this page for photos. I didn't add adhesive to the tops of the die cuts so photos could be easily added to the page.

I love all the bracket shapes from this Basic Grey collection. It made it fun and easy to add layers to my pages.

The original album also came with two acrylic pages. I cut them to the size I needed and turned them into tags. I also cut a paper tag and layered it behind the acrylic one. I added some chipboard pieces to the tag for a fun look.

Another bracket piece from the Hipster collection, This makes a perfect journaling spot and layers well with the other pages of the album.

I added a chipboard element to this bracket page and added a photo mat for another small photo. I made several brads using my Epiphany Crafts supplies. I added a few arrows from the Hipster collection and then created the two smallest arrows using the Epiphany Crafts banner punch and then trimming the straight edge into a point.

On the back of the page I added an interactive element with a folded page that can hold additional photos and journaling. I added a brad made using Epiphany Crafts supplies as a small handle.

This is another one of the acrylic tags I made.

This envelope was made using the We R Memory Keepers envelope board. I made a magnetic closure by removing the prongs from the back of an Epiphany Crafts brad setting and adding a Basic Grey magnetic disc. A second disc was added to the inside of the envelope to complete the closure. I added a couple of journaling tags to the inside of the envelope.

I added another bracket tag to the last page of the album and a few banner shapes including one punched with the Epiphany Crafts banner punch.

Hip to be Square with Epiphany Crafts

This week the Epiphany Crafts Design Team is sharing projects using the square tool. Be sure to stop by the Epiphany Crafts blog for more ideas. For my project I made this cute bird necklace using the Epiphany Crafts Square Tool, a stamp, and wax from The Paper Studio.

To make the bird charm start by heating the wax and allow it to melt into a puddle onto a heat resistant surface (I used the Ranger Craft Mat). Give the wax a few seconds to harden slightly and then press your Versamark ink coated stamp into the wax. Once the wax has hardened gently remove the stamp to reveal the image. If the image isn't to your liking simply reheat the wax and stamp the image again. Once your image is ready, use the Epiphany Crafts square tool to punch a square from a scrap piece of cardstock. Use the cardstock square to trim away any extra wax so it will fit inside the Epiphany Crafts charm. You can use any colored wax for this charm or color the wax using Adirondack inks or metallic mixatives. Once your wax piece is ready, adhere it to the Epiphany Crafts charm with a strong adhesive and add the charm to a chain and the necklace is complete.

Get Inspired by Pinterest and Epiphany Crafts

This week the Epiphany Crafts Design Team has been sharing projects inspired by Pinterest. Be sure to stop by the Epiphany Crafts blog to see all the amazing projects and what inspired them.

I came across this image on Pinterest of these colorful books and was inspired to use a similar color palette for my project.

I used papers from the Fancy Pants Memories Captured collection, felt and dies from Papertrey Ink, Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and Epiphany Crafts tools and accessories to make these cute flower barrettes and pin.

To make each of the barrettes die cut the pieces using the Papertrey Ink Clever Barrette Cover die collection from Vintage Cream felt. Sew the pieces together with the snap clip barrette in place.

To make each of the flowers die cut the two smallest flowers from the Tim Holz Tattered Florals die from Ocean Tides felt. Layer the flowers and make a hole in the center with a piercing tool. Use the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool to punch your patterned paper and set the bubble cap to create your epoxy piece. Adhere the piece to a Round 14 Brad Setting and add the brad to the center of the flowers. Adhere the flowers to the larger end of each barrette.

For the packaging, die cut the pieces using the Papertrey Ink Boutique Accessory Card die collection from white cardstock and patterned paper in the Fancy Pants Memories Captured 6x6 paper pad. Stamp the image using VersaMagic Aspen Mist ink at the top of the white cardstock piece. Adhere the pieces together and add the barrettes to the packaging card.

The flower pin is also made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. Cut two of the largest flower and one of each of the two smallest flowers. Add a pin back to the backside of the flower and add to the packaging card.

Epiphany Crafts and Helmar

Epiphany Crafts and Helmar are teaming up this week to bring you some great projects and inspiration. Be sure to check both the Epiphany Crafts and Helmar blogs to see what the design teams have created.

For my project I decided to pair up a couple of cut files from SVGCuts to use with the Epiphany Crafts tools and Helmar adhesives to create this book lamp piece. This would make a fun home decor piece (the back of the lamp shade has a small opening to add an electronic tealight candle) or a unique and fun gift box (each of the books have a sliding drawer).

I decorated the lamp with the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Charms and the Hipster collection from Basic Grey.

The book pieces were also decorated with the Hipster collection.

Each of the book pieces has a drawer that slides out. I used the Epiphany Crafts Brad Settings to add a drawer pull to each book.

I used the file folders from the Hipster collection to make some mini notebooks and finished them off with a bit of twine and more of the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Charms and added them to the drawers.

To make this project you will need start by cutting all the pieces for the lamp and books with your die cut machine. I used my Silhouette Cameo for this project. Use the Helmar Quick Dry Adhesive to assemble all the basic pieces of the lamp and books.

To decorate the lamp shade use the Fiskars Apron Lace border punch and punch four 1/2 inch strips. Adhere the strips of cardstock to the bottom of the lamp shade with the Helmar Permanent Adhesive Runner and trim any extra cardstock from each side. Cut four 1/4 inch strips from cardstock to adhere to the top of the lamp.

Choose your patterned paper and punch 12 circles using the Round 14 Studio Tool and Bubble Caps.

Place the circle pieces in the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Charms and add two jump rings to the top of each charm.

Add the charms to the bottom of the lamp shade as shown.

I die cut star shapes from three of the sides of the lamp shade and added vellum panels behind each of the stars. I punched additional stars and adhered them over the vellum pieces with the Helmar ZAPDOTS for a bit of dimension and decoration.

Star Spangled with Epiphany Crafts

This week the Epiphany Crafts Design Team has been sharing some great projects using the star tool. Be sure to stop by the Epiphany Crafts blog to check out these fun projects.

For my project I made a red, white, and blue lantern set. These would be fun to use as part of a table centerpiece or you could add small electronic tealight candles and light up the night! I used the Lettering Delight Boom De Yada files and cut the lantern pieces with my Silhouette machine. After the lanterns were assembled I punched three stars for each lantern using the star 25 tool, the star 25 bubble caps, and glitter paper. A row of stars and a few additional embellishments were added to each lantern.

Here is a closer look at each of the lanterns.

Epiphany Crafts and Pink Paislee

This week Epiphany Crafts and Pink Paislee are teaming up! Be sure to stop by both blogs for some inspiring projects from both design teams.

I got to work with the beautiful Hope Chest collection from Pink Paislee and created a fun mini album with interactive pages. I used a card holder from Wilton to house the album and thought it would be fun to display as a home decor piece.

For the cover of the album I used the Tim Holtz bracket die to give it a fun decorative edge. I then added an Epiphany Crafts charm, a couple of Pink Paislee die cuts, and a chipboard butterfly from Studio 18.

Open the flap of the cover to reveal several pages for photos or journaling.

The next page has a small pocket on the front with tags and die cuts for journaling.

This page also has a side pocket for photos and additional journaling tags. I die cut the photo mat with the Tim Holtz file tab die.

For this page I die cut a banner shape using my Silhouette from the 12x12 Keepsakes patterned paper and layered it with a piece of vellum cut with the same shape. I added more die cut pieces, another charm, and chipboard butterfly.

I also die cut a butterfly shape from the center of the vellum banner piece.

I made the next page as a file folder and added the tab with the Tim Holtz file tab die. I also added a butterfly clip and a couple of diecuts. The clip can also hold additional journaling tags or photos on the inside of the folder.

The next page is another die cut page, this time in the shape of a tag.

I die cut the word journey at the bottom of the vellum layer of the tag.

The last page of the album has more die cuts, chipboard, and a charm to decorate the front.

The front flap opens to reveal additional space for photos or journaling.
