Right Here, Right Now

Hello and welcome to the Paper Issues blog hop! Be sure to start at the Paper Issues blog and stop by all the design team member blogs participating in the hop today. They have created some fabulous projects that are sure to inspire you.

We also have an amazing giveaway from NKat Designs- 3 months of the Project Subscription service! To be entered in the giveaway you need to:

1. Like Paper Issues on Facebook.
2. Like NKat Designs on Facebook.
3. Link up a project.

The new issue is right here, right now and I combined NKat Designs products and the Crate Sleigh Ride collection to create my Project Life spread for week 50.

I like to include memorabilia that doesn't always fit or work inside the pockets so for this spread I added an envelope that holds receipts and othe small bits of memorabilia, a program from my daughter's Winter Choir Concert and the music sheets of the songs she sang at the concert.

Here is a look at the full spread with out the center inserts. Most of my December spreads look very similar. On one side I have included photos from various events from the week and on the other I have included photos of our silly elf, Marshmellow.

Here is a closer look at the right side of the spread where I have included photos from our trip to grandma's house to exchange gifts and spend some time together, a photo of my daughter in her season's greeting hat for Callanan Middle School hat day, photobooth photos of my husband and I, photos of my youngest daughter practicing holiday music on her instruments for band and orchestra, and a photo of my daughter and 8 of her 14 best friends taken just after the choir concert.

NKat products and the Crate Paper Sleigh Ride collection work very well together. In the first pocket I took the notebook edge diecut that I received from NKat Designs and flipped it upside down and created a tag from it and combined it with a tag from the Sleigh Ride collection. In the sceond pocket I started with one of the polaroid frames from NKat Designs and then added another tag from the Sleigh Ride collection and a photo of my daughter. In the next pocket I used a small glassine bag to hold photobooth photos of my husband and I and clipped a couple of tags from the Sleigh Ride collection to the bag. In the last pocket I cut a tag shape, embossed it, added a tag from the Sleigh Ride collection, and layered a felt snowflake I received from NKat Designs. For the title card I cut a 4x6 rectangle, rounded the corners with the 1/8" WRMK Corner Chomper, added a strip of washi tape near the bottom and thickers for the week number.

Here is the left side of the spread with photo of our fun and silly elf. Even though my kids are a bit older, they still love the elf and all his silliness so it is fun to include these photos in my PL album.

Each of the tabs has the stamped date for each day and pulls out to reveal the story of that days antics and any reactions from the kids.

There is also an amazing giveaway- an eBosser from Craftwell! You'll definately want to check out Craftwell on Facebook and then head over to the Paper Issues blog to find all the details on how to enter the giveaway.

Our issues for this theme is tags! I had a lot of fun using The Sweetest Thing collection from My Mind's Eye to create my tag album. This album holds some of my favorite photos of my daughter Lisa. I love the way the album turned out and can't wait to put together more albums like this for my other children.

I also made a box to house the album using the 3D Notes Box by Lori Whitlock. For the album I started with Lori Whitlock's Pocket Tag to make the front and back covers of the album. I then created my own simple and interactive pages to fill the album. I kept the embellishments simple, added my photos, and my album was finished. Here is a look at the pages of the album.

This is the other side of the front cover and stores additional photos and tags.

Using the Papertrey Ink Shutterbug Special stamp set and die I created another pocket to hold mini photo strips I took using my iPad.

Using my Silhouette software I welded my daughters name to a rectangle shape, cut it with my Cameo, and cut the corners to match the other tags.

I handcut this tag and used my Basic Grey Notch and Die tool to create the closure. It opens to reveal more mini photo strips and tags for journaling.

I cut my photo into a tag shape and layered a vellum tag over the top. I also used my Cameo to cut a rectangle shape with the word beauty cut at the bottom and then trimmed the corners to make the tag shape.

I also cut this tag by hand and added a title die cut to the front. This tag opens and holds a photo and embellishments. It may be hard to see in the photo, but I used the Basic Grey Notch and Die tool to create another closure for the flap.

For this tag I used the Silhouette software to weld the word love to a larger rectangle and cut it out with my Cameo. I used my scoring board to create the flap that opens revealing another photo and embellishments.

The back cover and another pocket tag that holds additional photos and tags.

I put together a Teacher Gift Set for this theme- Basket of Supplies, School House of Memories Box, and a Pencil Card.

Paper Issues August FITkit

Paper Issues and ScrapFIT have teamed up to bring you a new kit each month called FITkits! You can find the kits and other great products in the Paper Issues store. (Don't forget to use the code INSPIREME to get 20% off of your entire order!) Here's a look at the kit created by the fabulous Melissa Priest:

I used my kit to make a couple of quick and easy projects. First up are these cute little notecards. I just adore those cute little butterflies from Pebbles.

I also made some fun 3D letter boxes for my girls using my Silhouette Cameo. They each chose a patterned paper for the accents and we kept them fairly simple since they will be displayed on their desks and be used as a storage container.

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Be sure to check out Paper Issues and ScrapFIT for more inspiration and info for this kit. Have a great day!
