Xyron and Kaisercraft

Xyron has announced their Design Team and I'm thrilled to be back for another term. You can see the announcement on the Xyron blog and check out the new members of the team.

This week Xyron and Kaisercraft have come together for a fun blog hop so be sure to stop by both blogs to see what the other design team members have created!

I have three projects to share with you today and my first project is this photo stand. I painted and assembled the photo stand from Kaisercraft and decorated it with Kaisercraft's Suga Pop collection.

Small Heart Punches

For my final project I used the 3D Heart Wall Art kit to make this shelf. I am using the shelf to display my favorite photos and I may add a favorite mini album or other projects as well.

To make this project start by painting all the pieces with white paint. I gave each piece two coats of paint.

In the kit you will find two pieces that look like this. One of these pieces has two holes that would have been used to hang the wall art piece. We still need two holes to hang the shelf and two additional holes for the hooks we will add to the bottom of the shelf. Stack the two pieces (the piece with the holes will need to be on top) and use the holes of the top piece to mark the second piece with a pencil so you will know where to drill the two new holes.

Use a drill to add two holes to the second piece. I used a simple hand drill from Fiskars.

Line up the pieces side by side and add a white hook to the bottom of each piece. I found these small white hooks at my local Target.

To assemble the shelf start by lining up the two smaller boards about 6.5 inches apart.

Add one of the four panels to the top of the shelf about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the two boards.

Add two more of the panels underneath the first.

Now add the fourth panel perpendicular to the other boards so that it looks like this and you have the main part of your shelf completed.

Use the heart piece from the kit to trace and cut a heart shape from one of the patterned papers in the Kaisercraft Suga Pop 12x12 collection.

Run the patterned paper heart shape through the Xyron Creatopia with permanent adhesive and adhere it to the heart piece.

Adhere the heart piece to the top of the shelf and add a white small clothespin to one side of the heart.

Now you can add favorite photos, memorabilia, craft projects, etc., to display. I added a photo of one my girls and one of the cards from the Kaisercraft Suga Pop collection to the heart. Instead of using a clip to display items on the heart, you could also use the magnetic/ laminate cartridge to run the patterned paper heart shape through on the 9" Creative Stations or the Creatopia and turn the heart piece into a magnet board.

I put two small white clips on the hooks and added more photos and polaroid frames I made myself for some smaller photos.
